Altair's Resin PA DC-17 Build - Altair - Sunday 12-Jul-2015 Blaster building.. gotta luv it! This time its a clone commandos DC-17. For this build I'm using a kit from Polymer Armory. Here is what is included in a resin DC-17 kit from PA Initial impression... these kits look good! They are very complete, the detail is sharp and there is next to no air bubbles in the resin Watch this space Oh and there maybe more than one...... Cyclops and Altair will have some nice new blasters soon RE: Altair's Resin PA DC-17 Build - Whitey - Sunday 12-Jul-2015 Nice nice nice nice nice nice nice nice nice nice nice nice nice nice nice nice nice nice nice nice nice nice nice nice nice nice nice nice nice nice......... Did I mention that it's NICE!!!!! RE: Altair's Resin PA DC-17 Build - Altair - Wednesday 21-Oct-2015 Back on track with my RC build, so back on track with this blaster The PA kit is marked where you have to make your cuts which is handy The inserts only required minimal sanding to fit nicely in place Plenty of room inside for some electronics perhaps? The pieces are only screwed in here, no magnets yet One thing I did notice is not everything lined up, it was a little out for my liking So I started sanding the back of it... I had to take quite a bit off and there was a thin spot which I had to bog with putty I also noticed when holding up this piece to the light that the walls at the front of the barrel cap were also thin... Not perfect but sitting much better now Only issue with moving this piece back was the top sight piece does not clip in So I've filled this with putty and will have to redrill a new hole for the magnet and cut out a section for the clip to sit in RE: Altair's Resin PA DC-17 Build - Whitey - Thursday 22-Oct-2015 Look8ng good mate. RE: Altair's Resin PA DC-17 Build - Altair - Thursday 22-Oct-2015 Cut out my new hole for the magnet and section for the clip Now the clip aligns good and it will keep the top in place The handle that comes with the PA kit is really nice, it has a separate trigger and is hollowed out in sections with tracks to easily install a micro switch and wiring. I plan to add some electronics later on, so I cut out the section covered by the handle Here is the handle screwed together.. I filed and sanded the edges of the grip so it is nicer to hold in the hand Side cutout, again plenty of room to install electronics Little bit of tidy up before any paint touches this pew pew.. mainly the seam After some sanding.. may need some more... will wait until I have a coat of primer on it Glued the magnets in with some Araldite.. made sure they are all the right way so no opposing forces RE: Altair's Resin PA DC-17 Build - scope - Sunday 25-Oct-2015 Hell yeah Gunna be sweet John RE: Altair's Resin PA DC-17 Build - Oevil1 - Sunday 25-Oct-2015 It's a beautiful kit for sure!
