Pew Pew Pew Hasbro - Koliebrie - Tuesday 24-Feb-2015 Grab your blaster and join the Stormtrooper army as they take control of the galaxy and conquer any enemies of the empire Lady's and Gentlemen So here it is my first Build A Hasbro conversion So the basic plan Is: -Doopydoos kit -Better electronic elements -Coil wires -Metal scope rail Any another mods will be decided on during the build. I'll keep you guys updated AndrĂ© RE: Pew Pew Pew Hasbro - TerrorFirma - Tuesday 24-Feb-2015 Very nice, keep everyone posted on your updates! Terror Pew Pew Pew Hasbro - Koliebrie - Tuesday 24-Feb-2015 So here we go First I opened the back of the scope (screwdriver and a lot of force) This part was harder than I thought. Got some surface damage which I'll have to fix later on Next I did cut the nozzle. First cut was pretty ruff so after the initial cut (dremel with cut disc) I had so sand it down until I reached a smooth surface (dremel with drum sander) Now the front scope part has to go to make room for the doopydoos later on. Same thing here ruff cut then some sanding. First time I used my new dremel too. So ill be getting better along the way Pew Pew Pew Hasbro - Koliebrie - Wednesday 25-Feb-2015 So got some more work done today After I took the blaster apart (which wasn't as hard as I thought it would be after reading some other builds) I removed all the electronics. In this build I'm not going to use any of it. Next up was the trigger. I looked up some sterling reference pictures and after some dremel action (dremel with engraving bit) this is my result. I have to say that I am really happy with it. Especially considering my lack of dremel skill. What do you guys think? After that the scope rail (if you could call it that) had to go. Fairly straight forward (dremel with cut disc and barrel sander). Now.... I don't know what material and what thickness would be good as a replacement. Some builds use aluminium.... Some don't specify. So any ideas people? Till next time AndrĂ© RE: Pew Pew Pew Hasbro - gmrhodes13 - Wednesday 25-Feb-2015 Looking good, I use either aluminium or ABS both 2mm and 19mm wide Pew Pew Pew Hasbro - Koliebrie - Thursday 26-Feb-2015 Thanks. I'm going to get some tomorrow. Now here is today's update Used the dremel to make some more room inside the blaster. Every inch is needed for the new electronics that this baby is getting. So for this, the dremel with a sanding barrel is the way to go. Makes your life pretty easy This is the front view. Plenty of room for my kit. I also used the dremel to make room in the battery compartment to fit a 9v battery (including slot for wires) Also sanded the copyright blablablabla. :D Next up: scope rail.... and waiting for my doopydoos. Which can take a while as I heard Any other suggestions on what I should do while I wait? Pew Pew Pew Hasbro - Sly - Thursday 26-Feb-2015 Gutted, your blaster that is. Have you got your super bright red LED, battery and circuit board set up yet? If so, lay it all out, draw your plan, and post some photos. Have you thought about a display stand for your E11, when your not using it? You could always draw up a plan and start work on one of those. Here is my full Doopy E11 build, I think towards the end is the display stand I made for it. http://www.501st.com.au/forum/showthread.php?tid=8623 Pew Pew Pew Hasbro - Koliebrie - Thursday 26-Feb-2015 Let's say I wrote myself a plan on what I want to do with the electronics inside... But had some more funding available than I thought I would :D ... And did end up buying a hyperdyne kit..... Which annoys me... Because I know I can do as good with my skills ... But in a mood I decided to go the lazy way... BUT.. After this build (and my armor) I will make a pipe build in which I will make everything myself. Including electronics with lcd hengstler counter (with different animations) But there is still soooo much to get and organise (including me and my finance are moving house very soon) for my armor, that i decided to go the easy way..... This time. Pew Pew Pew Hasbro - Sly - Thursday 26-Feb-2015 Let me know down the track when you are decide to do your pipe build, I am keen to do one too, and like you would like to go the full electronics route, something I do not have the skill set for sadly. Pew Pew Pew Hasbro - Koliebrie - Thursday 26-Feb-2015 Sure will. You could lend a hand with the actual building because I have no knowledge when it comes to that part 😀 RE: Pew Pew Pew Hasbro - Altair - Saturday 28-Feb-2015 Looking good mate! Pew Pew Pew Hasbro - Sly - Saturday 28-Feb-2015 No probs at all. RE: Pew Pew Pew Hasbro - Oevil1 - Saturday 28-Feb-2015 Awesome job so far mate!! Will be watching eagerly! RE: Pew Pew Pew Hasbro - Ghalgor - Sunday 1-Mar-2015 Me too Pew Pew Pew Hasbro - Koliebrie - Sunday 1-Mar-2015 Hey guys I went and bought some aluminium for the new scope rail. Now I have to come up with a way of mounting it into the blaster. I thought about cutting a small slot under the scope to put it in. But then I would have to sacrifice this screwpoint. Same at the back. If I rivet or screw it I would loose one screwpoint. Does anyone have a better/easier idea? Due to the electronics inside it would like easy access into the blaster. Which is why I don't really want to loose any of them Thanks |
