Hey Andrew, I don't wish to put a dampener on it, but by the looks of the info in the event, the Grand Opening is invite only. Being a Cadet, unknown by anyone here, it might not be an event you can attend.
Unfortunately, we have had incidences in the past with unknown newcomers that have ended badly.
This hobby is not something anyone should rush into, as a lot of money and be spent, and wasted on unessentials and bad/dodgy products.

The best place to meet troopers, see armour first hand, and ask lots of questions, is an Armour Party. There is one on the 21st of June, and one of the yummiest happening on the 5th of July.

Where abouts do you live? maybe you could arrange a personal meet and greet to chat everything 501st. Maybe even throw your own get together
