Thanx Diatium.....And a question/query guys. I found these boots (pictured) at a garage sale (They're brand new, not steel cap...& we're cheap) so I painted em up to suit my TK Armour for the Halloween thing. I know there not Chelsea/Jodphur and there is a visible seam running down the front and sole is like a work boot, though not as chunky. Just thought I'd put it out there (I'll also msg Phantom to take a looksy when he can) for comment and whether to put any more effort into them to meet approval. I've checked the FISD site and the sole & stitching are probably their downfall...but that's no biggy, as mentioned they are for Halloween purposes to escort my kid and her pals around the streets here at home & I'll source some suitable boots soon.

I've also attached a pic in my first suit/armour up (taken last night, excuse the knee plate & drop boxes are taped there for armour up purposes) to see what/where needs to be modified further (the thighs/forearm,Bicep seem to be my headache atm) so I can hit the streets this Halloween. I'm only a shade over 5'7 (yes yes..a little short for a StormTrooper..lol) and weigh bout 74kg..I'm based in Rochedale South (Brisbane South) and would love to meet any local/nearby TK's to see how your armour issues are addressed particularly how the turtle shell thing (Ab plate to kidney plate) attachment works/is done. I've checked FISD but I'd really like to get a closer/up close look. Phantom mentioned there has been a lack of Armour parties of late...so just thought I'd ask.

I'm chipping away at it (as finances allow..lol) and I'll get there. Thanx for the help so far gang. Cheers, DEATHPROOFLol

Hey Tony.
Unfortunately as you have alluded to the boots wouldn't cut it for approval because of the points you have mentioned (style, seams, sole). Fine to hit the road for halloween but you would need a better pair for approval. Depending on your finances check out Imperial Boots http://www.imperialboots.com/product/421/ or just paint a pair of Chelsea boots so long as the style match the CRL criteria.

Hi guyzz..Well, Halloween is done & was a hoot wandering the streets with my little girl & friends Doppeldaumen1 . But now its time to start bringing my TK armour up to 501st spec. I could really use some info/piccys/help on attaching the ab plate to the kidney plate. I've been on the FISD site looking & whilst there is a few build threads on there..I cant seem to find any tutorials, etc..the photos are not super clear..to me anywayzz Yuk . Also after walking a little distance my ammo belt wants to slide creep down & eventually wanting to drop into the top of my thigh armour. Is there any tricks to fastening it more securely or does that come into play with the ab/kidney plate securement??.

Anyway if anybody could respond with some info/pics or what would be really cool is if I could meet with any of you TK's that might be on Brisbane Southside (I'm at Rochedale Sth..near Brisbane Lions AFL social club). I'll supply some beers Wink I'm also in the process of reacquiring a blue card (I was a groundskeeper at a school before I had to finish up work & had one..but it has lapsed) so I can come along and wrangle and see how this all works..any info on wrangling would also be appreciated.

Thanx everyone...Cheers DEATHPROOF Peace Wink

Hi there mate.

For the abb/kidney try something like this:

http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/tutorial...rd-armour/
It all depends on your setup, but the above are a good start.

This is another good idea to keep the chest in position:

Or an easier version, similar to the way I do mine:

I am guessing you mean the belt around your waist when you say the ammo belt drops down. Try this tutorial:
http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/tutorial...rop-boxes/
But remember to position the belt to suit your armour and to match reference images.

I hope this helps.
