Hi and welcome to the Redbacks.
First of all, go and sign up on the Sandtrooper detachment MEPD, link below.
http://forum.mepd.net/
You can also sign up on FISD The Stormtrooper detachment
http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/

These web sites are where you will find all the material you need to research, the vendors to buy kits from, build threads etc etc.

Have you checked the Costume reference library?
This is where you find the requirements for approval of your costume.
Phantom should be along soon to give you some more information.
Again, welcome and enjoy the ride.

Hi spenny and welcome the redback garrison forums.

For your Sandtrooper have a read through the Costume Reference Library (CRL), there are a few variations to choose from:
http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TD_sandtrooper

I would reccomend that you sign up on the detachment Mos Eisley Police Dept or MEPD:
http://www.mepd.net/

For the kit itself have a look over on First Stormtrooper Detachemnt or FISD:
http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/
There is a list vetted sellers of armour on FISD. Please check with the folks on FISD, MEPD or post up here first before you part with your hard earned dollars. Here is a good link to have a read through regarding armour seller:
http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11...find-them/
When you make contact with the sellers make sure that you give as much detail about yourself like height, measurements of biceps, thighs, waist etc so that you know that you will get a kit that will fit your body type. You don't want a kit that will be either too small or too large.

While you are reading, this will give you some insight on the approval process:

But never be afraid to ask questions we are a pretty helpful and friendly bunch.

Good luck on your journey.
