Details:
We descended upon the cinemas at 8:30pm for 9pm troop time. The cinema staff were nice enough to allocate us one of their soon-to-be opened silver class cinemas as our change areas. Tonnes of room for us all to spread out and get into kit.
Once we all started getting changed it was very easy to identify those that had opted to tackle a FNG Parmy just minutes prior to the troop start time. Tempus Redux and Phantomblade looked extremely close to entering a "code red" food coma sitting in the comfortable cinema chairs.
We kitted up and moved through the cinema lobby on a mission to get our traditional yearly photos prior to the crowds building. These consist of shots "troopers revel in their own cinema" "what special combos are going down at the candy bar" and we added some "Vader sabre skills in the dark lane-way" this year and in keeping with traditions photo-bombed by Baytrooper
It was one of the hottest and most humid nights of the year. Those of us in the heavier kits struggled with this so regular breaks of branded water and brand name sugary snacks were in order.
The crowds really kicked in close to 11pm and at this late stage in the evening trooping became a tad difficult. The lines literally filled almost all of the small cinema foyer relegating our crew to a small zone in front of the candy bar.
Baytrooper turned his Aker "up to 11" and proceeded to squeeze his way down the congested line-up of punters and proceeded to raise some great $$$ for our nominated cause for the night.
Shortly after we called it quits for the night and made our way to some amazing seats organized by the cinema owners to enjoy the screening.
Thanks to all troopers and the support crew on the night for assistance in kitting up and raising the funds for the refuge as well as Phil, Michelle, Ria & Cortney for making the night from out of town. Especially given the long run time of the movie it was a 2.45am finish time and a big drive home for team Bundy.
Charity Funds Raised:
$190.75
Injuries/Malfunctions:
A dangerously slow heart rate was noted for all those that "Parmied" prior to the troop
Public incidents:
Nil
Mission Status:
Success!!!
