Date: 15th of May 2011
Venue: Manly Creative Markets on the foreshore in Manly.
Time: 0730 - 1100
Mission: Raise awareness of the Relay 4 Life event and get teams to sign-up.
Secondary Mission: Shake the can and raise money for our team total.
Trooper Attendance: The Scotsman (ID), Hopfot (Jedi) and Tirilia (Jedi).
Guest Trooper Attendance: Muppet, Tanna, Phantom, Spacebandit, Fallout and Crypto. Plus the usual array of Jawas.
Support Crew: Cutter.
Detail:
0630 saw the first of many Imperial shuttles make it's way into the busy spaceport. Atmospheric conditions were perfect. Clear blue skies with a slightly cutting breeze. Perfect Trooping weather.
A base of operations was quickly established. In lightning time, we were ready.
More Troopers started arriving for the MAD March and lent greatly appreciated support to our mission. They used our Imperial Base to re-supply before launching their offensive to go out and around the Manly pools and back.
Shortly after our patrol left on their mission we were infiltrated by another Jedi. To the tune of "What's New Pussycat? Whoah,, Whoah,, Whoah, Whoah!!" and "Love Cat's", thanks to the local Cantina Band.
It was then decided that we should take in the sights of the local system. Collecting donations along the way. Hopfot was left in charge of the base while The Scotsman and Tirilia went on patrol with Cutter in support.
Quite a large number of donations were given on this outing. It was very worthwhile shaking down the local merchants for Imperial protection.
While making our way back to base we were joined by our MAD Marchers. It was quite a sight to see us all together.
With the march over and the Raffle prizes handed out, we began our victorious withdrawal.
Long live the Empire.
Charity Funds Raised: $112.60 to go to our Relay 4 Life team total.
Injuries: None Reported.
Malfunctions: Belts and thermal detonators seemed to be the issue of the day.
Public Incidents: Two teenage girls were very freaked out by the big kitty.
Mission Status: Complete Success.
