Troop Report
Date: 29th of May 2011

Venue: Cleavland Showgrounds

Time: 0600-1200

Mission:To promote the R4L event the following weekend as well as recruit for the Redback Garrison.

Trooper Attendance: The Scotsman ID 2153, crypto TK 2620

Guest Trooper Attendance: none

Support Crew: Jolie and the Kids.

Detail:

As dawn began to break over a very crisp location, The Scotsman and crypto emerged from their transports. Quickly, they secured what was arguably the best spot ever to make a base. And in almost no time at all the base was built and the area secured.

The Troopers stood and watched as the "fun" runners registered. A few came over to see what we were about. But not many at this stage as both troopers were not yet in armour. Thus, keeping their powder dry.

It was only when the runners from the 10km run started to return that our valiant troopers decided that now was the time. They made themselves ready.

The Scotsman was able to armour up in his Imperial Officer quite easily while still manning the base. crypto utilized his transport.

Only once crypto made his resplendent entrance did it start to hot up in our area. Suddenly, everyone came out of the wood work. All wanted a picture with the Stormtrooper and more information about the R4L that was happening the next weekend.

Citizens details were taken for further information to be relayed to them about next weeks event.

And potential recruits were also identified.

crypto received a call from his outpost that they needed to be resupplied to keep the Rebels at bay. He and had to go off mission for a black ops run. Thank you Trooper. Your help today was invaluable.

After the Prize ceremony, The Scotsman saw that this mission was winding to a close. He strategically withdrew from the area with no casualties reported.

Charity Funds Raised:

$53.05 for the Redback Garrison R4L team.

Anyone wishing to donate to the Redback Garrison team can do so. HERE

Injuries: Only a few runners. When they crossed the finish line it didn't look as "fun" as the name would suggest.

Malfunctions: None. We were too good for that to happen.

Public Incidents: The Wife of The Scotsman (Jolie) won a medal for second place in her age group (whatever that was) for the 10km run. Congratulations. Doppeldaumen1

Mission Status: Complete success.

Star Wars theme annual relay for life
30 May, 2011 05:06 PM
THOUSANDS of Redlanders are expected to make the annual all-night pilgrimage in Cleveland this weekend for the Relay for Life.
The annual relay will be held at Norm Price Park – Redland Showgrounds, Cleveland, with tents going up on Saturday before the official launch by Redland Mayor Melva Hobson.

The 18-hour relay will start at 3pm on Saturday, with walkers continuing non-stop all night finishing around 9am on Sunday.

The relay is held internationally to raise funds for cancer research and a highlight of the event will be the candlelight tribute to those who have been lost to cancer and for those battling the disease.

Event organiser Wendy Boglary said the relay was about raising money for research into cancer, awareness and giving support to carers andsufferers.

Teams were an important part of the relay and a large contingent of community groups and local schools would be participating.

Faith Lutheran College at Victoria Point had nominated a team of more than 90 students and staff and had issued a challenge to other schools in the district to compete and match the college effort.

They used a close-up shot of us behind the tree, and a small inset pic of us buckets off smiling.
