New from Cairns

Howdy folks.. I'm a Star Wars nut.
Always wanted to be a Stormtrooper. Found out about you guys and want to join and make Cairns part of the Empire!
How do I go about acquiring the right items to make an authentic ANH replica Stormtrooper costume?
Cheers for your assistance.

Hi Dave, Welcome to the Redback Forums... Smile

You are definitely in the right place to find out about a TK Stormtrooper Wink

Although, you may want to rethink your Alias, as that number has already been allocated to a 501st Legion Member... http://www.501st.com/members/displaymemb...serID=9485
(just trying to save you some disappointment down the track)

Wink

We have some very experienced Troopers in Townsville that can help you in the right direction for your TK Journey

These blast points — too accurate for sandpeople. Only imperial stormtroopers are so precise. Tk

Gday Dave Welcome to the forums. I haven't done a TK so I cant advise you on where to buy one, the best I can suggest is for you to sign up to the 501sts http://www.whitearmor.net it should have most/all of the info you will need.

Keep an eye on the upcoming events as there may be a troop you may be able to make it to, and get a chance to see armor up close and what goes on behind the armor. Also as NQdude said don't be afraid to ask questions - there are plenty of silly mistakes you can make and many TKs have found them.

What do you call a stormtrooper who can hit a target?

Welcome Dave, +1 on Stormraven's comment regarding the FISD forum. Heaps of great threads regarding armor manufacturers, sizing, availability ect.

Also there are heaps of build threads to read through on both Stunt & Hero versions (for that matter there are many builds here in the armor section as well).

My advice would be to first select the version you like the most (e.g. ANH Stunt or Hero), and then read build threads about that version to get a feel for the sizing & complexity of each type.

Good luck and have fun. Don't hesitate to sing out with questions as there are several of us in the middle of builds at present.

Cheers

Welcome aboard mate!

I'm in Townsville, but I have quite a few friends up in Cairns.

Don't think there's much more to add apart from the only silly question is the one you don't ask Wink

If you need help deciding what make of TK you're after or how to assemble one, I'm always happy to help!

ps, I'd think about changing your screen name to something else (until you get an actual TK ID) in order to save confusion when signing up to other sites... Turn out DZ 4870 is this guy :P http://www.501st.com/members/displaymemb...stumeID=58

anyway, Good luck! and don't forget to sign up on FISD!

Hello again Dave,

First, come up with a new Alias, then PM Moxxxie and ask her nicely if she would please change your Alias from "TK-4870" to... Umm... "Davo" or something similar... Wink

Cheers

Dave,

Not sure which way to go. ANH Stunt or Hero? Any suggestions. I'm 6 foot 2 (86ks) which I see can make a difference depending on who supplies the armour etc. I like being creative, so is Hero more down my track? Have asked Moxxxie for a new user name of lukestarrywalker - hope that's available Smile
Looks like I'll have to drive down to Townsville!

Welcome aboard.
Read through the CRLs for each as there are some slight differences.

http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_anh_stunt
There are other stormies too http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:FISD_CRL
As the others have said jump onto FISD for all things stormtrooper.
