Newcastle recruit

Hi all! My name's Alex, really nice to meet you guys.

First of all, I'm a massive Star Wars fan, as probably goes without saying on these forums . I've been keen to join the 501st for quite awhile, I've seen and talked to members at a number of events such as Supanova, but I've never really found the time or had the disposable income to get around to it (until now!).

And most importantly, what's really made me want to join the 501st, is that from my experience the SW fanbase is just an amazing group of people. Something about the movies, maybe the values they present, seems to attract really genuine cool and easy going people, and I think that the values of the 501st personify that perfectly.

I'm still a complete noob when it comes to organising a costume. I've read a few threads and had a look at the whitearmor.net site, but I couldn't really tell the difference between ANH, ESB and ROTJ armour - can someone fill me in? Even better, is there anyone from Newcastle, NSW, that I could have a chat with? Because I really don't know where to start :s.
