Reporting for duty from Wellington, NZ

Hi,
My name is Phil "Tarragon" Tanuvasa & I am the XO of Outpost 42 over here in New Zealand. At present, I have only built 1 Star Wars costume. It is an Episode 2 Clone Marshal Commander Neyo. I received my kit in October 2008 & I completed the build in February 2009, but am always finding new ways to tweak my armour. I received my my ID CC6407 from the 501st in February 2009.

Cheers,
Phil

Welcome Bro.
Welcome

Welcome to the Redback forums Phil,
Your kit looks quite good, I like the background too, was it taken in the South Island?

Yeah, it was taken last weekend at the Queenstown Winter Festival.
Outpost 42 was part of the opening cermony on Friday night. A couple of of Imperial Guards escorted out PM on to the stage so that he could officially open the QWF, which runs for 2 weeks.
Two of our members own Reel Collectibles based in Queenstwon, and each year, enter a float in the street parade on the Saturday. We had Darth Vader, Darth Maul, 4 stormies, a sandie, 2 scouts, 2 Imperial Guards, a snowtrooper, Hoth Leia, a Garindan, a Jedi, an ARC clone, a 501st clone & CC Neyo walking along side the float. The the float consisted of the lead vehicle with a movie screen on the roof of the 4x4 with a banner (specially designed & printed with Reel Collectibles & Outpost 42 logos) on both sides of the screen, one facing forward & the other facing back towards to the trailer.
Then on the trailer we had some old movie theatre seats in 2 rows. In the front row 2 people wearing skivvies & oversized 3D glasses. The 2nd row had an oldskool BSG Cylon & Freddie Kruger, all with a large bucket of popcorn in their laps.
Then at the rear of the seats was a projection camera on a tripod.
Another banner on the trailer tailgate & camera film made of crepe paper running down the sides of the trailer hiding the wheels.

Best thing was that we won the best float in parade.

Then on Sunday we did an impromptu troop back down on the lake.

It was frigging cold as the temperature got down to minus 5 over night & only up to 3-5 during the day. So we had layers of thermals under our lycra undersuits. All in all, it was a great 3 days.

Welcome mate,

It must make for an interesting troop having to try and wear more under your armour to help keep you warm.

That's when you'd want something like a chewie to wear so you'd be all cozy.

Can't wait to see some of you guys over here for dreamworld.

cheers joe

G'day and welcome to the forum.

I thought it looked like Queenstown in your pics, been there a few times for the snow and love the place.

Hope to catch up with a few of you "Kiwi Troopers" one day.

Cheers.
