Hi, not sure how to start but I've admired the 501st for a long time and not just because of the awesome costumes, but their generous nature and being able to give back to the community. I've thought about it many times and maybe the timing wasn't right in the past but now it is and I'm ready.

My initial goal is to get an approved Scout Trooper costume and be part of the 501st by early next year (2016). Your help with where to start, who to ask, etc.. would be greatly appreciated.

Hi and welcome to the Redbacks,
Where in Qld are you? "We have people everywhere" getting along to a troop will get you started in the verify process and a good place to ask costume questions
Cheers

Welcome to the forums.

Where to start? If you are looking a building a Scout Trooper the first thing to check out is the CRL - http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:...ut_trooper

Who to ask? The best source of information for Scout Troopers is on the Pathfinders Detachment site. So I recommend you sign up there.

Any other questions feel free to ask Smile

Welcome. I see that you have been pointed in the right direction in relation to the costume reference library (CRL) and the correct detachment. Just remember research, research and more research, and don't be afraid to ask questions.

While you are reading have a read of this to give you some info on the membership:

What part of QLD are you from?
