Hi Luffy, welcome to the Redback forums! Did you have any inkling about what costume you'd like to build? If not, have a look at the 501st CRL's (which one of the more experienced members will link, I'm on a mobile and at work) and you can decide from there! As always, please don't be afraid to ask questions. Again, welcome!

Hi there and welcome to the forum. What information are you after? Need to be a bit more specific so we can help you out.

If you are looking for a costume have a look over many costumes in the Costume Reference Library (CRL) for a costume, here is a link to a list of all currently approved costumes:
http://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:CRLbyname

Have a read over this thread to give you an indication on the membership process:

I hope this helps.

Enjoy and remember to ask loads of questions.

ID numbers (TK number as you put it) are issued once your first costume is approved and you become an approved member.

Cool as. So is it possible to get more experienced people to make the costume for me?

You can enlist the help of others, but it is always fun to learn new skills, you may surprise yourself with your ability.
Its also very satisfying when you tell people you made it yourself.

Good luck on your journey

I concur with Sly, I had to learn how to sew for my Stormtrooper (just the basics), had to relearn how to use tin snips, and learnt so many awesome things!
You've taken your first step into a larger world.

The droid.. stole a freighter?

Welcome Luffy!
Darth Nihilus is cool! Everyone is very helpful and forthcoming with tips and suggestions. Building ur own costume is fun and frustrating but seriously worth it. Depending on if u do go with Nihilus some soft parts can be made by seamstresses but make sure they are known to 501st so they know the details in the specifications of the CRL. Making and building it all urself is pretty special tho (I even made the thermal detonator clips for my TK myself!) - I've just finished my TK and is in the process of approval as we speak!
Have a look at the build threads as we all learn from each other and I've found them very informative!
Get onto ur detachment and get reading n researching!!!
Don't forget if ur in the area Dreamworld is in this weekend!!
Good luck n welcome!

Suggest you choose a vesion of Nihilus, take a look at the CRL and make a list of all the parts you will need for approval. There are parts you can buy with a little research to begin your journey as you work through the other parts.

If you aren't sure of the Pros and Cons of each version, feel free to hit me up at Dreamworld this weekend.....or just shoot me a PM.
