Date: 15th May 2011
Venue: Manly markets
Time: 7am-11am
Mission: March for Awareness of Melanoma & Skin Cancer and Remembrance of loved ones affected by such an insidious disease
Trooper Attendance: BH2620 Crypto,TK 5389 Phantom,TI 7675 Fallout,TK 8995 Muppet, ID 8996 Tanna, TD 9220 Spacebandit
Guest Trooper Attendance: ID 2153 The Scotsman, Jedi Hopfot & Jedi Tirilia
Support Crew: Cutter
Detail: Troopers arrived around 0700hrs and commenced a recon of the markets. Once troopers had registered to particpate in the walk, they transformed from the average citizen, into legion's finest troopers. It was suggested that the troopers taking part in the walk, be issued with gas filled balloons. Troopers agreed and support crew attached balloons to jet packs and thermal detonators ( which in hindsight was not the best place to do so, which will be explained in malfunctions.)
The walk organisers believed it would be wise to do a warm up before commencing. The nutbush and macarena were chosen and once again, the mighty Redback Garrison proved how awesome we are, even when dancing.
After the formalities of the opening speeches were completed, it was time to head of on our 4km journey. The lovely breeze kept troopers very comfy and hardly a sweat was raised. It only took roughly an hour and a half to make it back, which included many stops to attend to Jawas, holo pics and retrieve water bottles from Moreton Bay.
Once back to the base of the Cancer Council tent, it was time to clock off.
Job done.
Charity Funds Raised: not aware but will update when known.
Injuries: We thought we had lost Fallout over the edge into the bay, when we turned around to see him scaleling back up the retaining wall. But he had gone into the bay to retrieve a water bottle that was tossed over by a young Jawa.
Malfunctions: Lets see if i can remember,
Muppet's shoulder stud came away
Spacebandits belt stud broke
Crypto had a couple of pieces come loose
Phantom nearly lost his thermal det to NZ, when the helium baloon tied to it, nearly floated up, up and away.
Public Incidents: n/a
Mission Status: A complete success of course.

Thanks again to all those that took time out on their Sunday to support this event. Means a lot to me.
