E-11 Blaster
[Image: 17.jpg]
The E-11 blaster is based off a British Sterling machine gun which was in service with the British Army from 1944 until 1988.

For the E-11 there are a few choices that can be made to obtain one for trooping with, toy gun, scratch built or replica copy.

Lets start with the toy gun. Toy company Hasbro (under licence from LucasFilm) makes a version of the E-11.

These are a popular choice amongst 501st troopers as they are light, take a fair bit of punishment and they light up and have sound effects.

There is a Resin conversion skin kit available from a company located in the United Kingdom called Doopy Doo's Collectables. You can turn your regular ol' Hasbro from this...

To this....

The kits are easy to attach to a blaster and are imported into the country easily.

Hasbro blasters can be found at toy stores, on line shopping such as ebay and direct from Hasbro.

Second choice, Scratch built / homemade. Many troopers prefer to build there own blaster "hey I built my armour why not the gun" . A scratch built blaster can be as easy or as hard a build as you want. They can be built out of pvc plumbing pipes, aluminium pipe, plastic sheet and resin parts. Being "homemade" you don't have the worry of importing and customs. Below is a blaster that I made using plastic pipe, aluminium strip and resin parts.

Downloadable plans and a tutorial on how to build your own E-11 can be found here, E-11 Plans and tutorial.

At present member of Terror Australis Garrison, Barking Dragon makes detailed resin parts cast off a actual Sterling machine gun. He can be contacted through the TAG forums.

At present crypto makes a pvc pipe and resin part blaster that comes built and painted ready for trooping. He can be contacted through these forums.

Another choice for the E-11 is a Finished resin kit This one in the link is available from Doopy Doos as is a Unfinished resin kit.
Both kits look great the downside of them that I see is there might be trouble importing them. The unfinished kit contains a whole lot of parts that resemble real gun parts and the finished kit...well it looks like a real gun. Both of these options may get close scrutiny from customs and could end up being confiscated and destroyed. For more detailed information on the E-11 visit First Imperial Stormtrooper Detachment, there you can find other troopers builds, suppliers and hard to find parts.

Dlt-19 Heavy Blaster Rifle.
The most common blaster rifle associated with Imperial Sandtroopers is the DLT-19. This prop was made from a German MG-34 machine gun.

These blaster rifles are quite popular amongst 501st members as Sandtroopers and Stormtroopers can troop with them as well as Bounty Hunters, Dengar and 4-Lom.

At present a member on the Terror Australis Garrison Forum sells a Rubber Resin Kit. These are available in kit form and need sanding, filling and painting to complete it or come fully finished for a extra price.

These kits are the best on the market at the moment IMO and are easy to obtain as they ship out of Melbourne.

Doopy-Doos in the United Kingdom makes a DLT-19 Heavy Blaster Rifle Kit. This kit comes finished but by the time you factor in shipping and currency conversion it is much easier to get a kit from the seller in Melbourne.

Another option for the Dlt-19 is to build your own, many troopers have tried this option and have made some awesome looking props.
Plans and a basic build can be found here, Scratch built DLT-19. A great build using insulation foam can be found here, DLT-19 Foam Build.

T-21 Light Repeating Blaster.
A First World War-era Lewis machine gun provided the basis for the T-21. It was fed by a drum magazine that was placed horizontally on top of the gun's receiver. To produce the T-21 prop, the drum magazine was removed and minor cosmetic alterations were made.

Two makers of this BFG can be found in the US. Hyperfirm makes the T-21 in resin but don't like to sell outside the US. Another option is The Woodchuck he makes a T-21 out of wood and does sell internationally, you will need to get in contact with Chuck to enquire about price and availability http://woodchuck.imperial...m/.

Most of the builds use a light timber like pine and various sizes of pvc pipe. One of the best tutorials on how to build a T-21 can be found on the MEPD forums , T-21 scratch build tutorial.
The same tutorial can be found on the FISD forums as well. T-21 build

RT-97C Heavy Blaster Rifle
[Image: MG15.jpg]
The MG-15 provided the basis for the rifle. The MG-15 with its saddle drum magazine was used by German air crews for air defense in WW2.

The RT-97C was a heavy blaster option used by Imperial Sandtroopers.

There is a maker of this prop in The U.S but they refuse to ship outside the states so making your own is the best option and the easiest as this blaster is quite a simple build.

Using the measurements pictured below
[Image: mg15_measurements.jpg]
and pvc plumbing pipe, a toy gun handle and bits and pieces of parts you may have lying around the workshop you can put together a RT-97C for yourself. Below is one I made myself using said materials.

Merr-Sonn Power 5
[Image: blaster-pistol-5.jpg]
The Power 5 is based on a Mauser C96 a semi-automatic pistol that was originally produced by German arms manufacturer Mauser from 1896 to 1937.

This blaster is a ideal side arm for Imperial Officers and Tie Pilots.

UK company Doopy Doos has a resin kit of Han Solo's ESB DL-44, although it's not a Power 5 by adding a few extra greeblies and leaving off a couple of the resin parts you will end up with a good Power 5 prop.

This blaster can be scratch built as well using these ESB DL-44 Plans to scale up a template. Using your template and this Picture tutorial you can aim at making a brilliant looking prop.

DH-17
[Image: ilm_dh17_blaster.jpg]

The DH-17 prop was made using the same Sterling L2A3 sub-machine gun used for the E-11, with a different barrel housing.

Although this blaster is mostly associated with Rebels, Imperial Navy/Death Star Troopers arm themselves with this blaster as their side arm.

The main options for this blaster are converting a Hasbro toy gun,
[Image: DH-17v2.jpg]

a bit of sanding and painting and you have a passable prop, downside of this option is that the toy is becoming rare to find. Hasbro toy mod.

The other option is to build your own, like the other blasters that get scratch built parts can be found at the hardware shop. A good build tutorial can be found here DH-17 Scratch Build.

Biker Scout Blaster

[Image: Star-Wars-Return-Of-The-Jedi-1983-prop-weapons.jpg]

Unlike a lot of the weapons in the Star Wars movie, the Scout Blaster was a custom piece made by ILM. Normally the artisans at ILM would take existing weapons and modify them to be futuristic blasters, not so with the Biker Scout's weapon.

A British made "Singlepoint Scope" was mounted to the right side the blaster, using half of a Webley scope ring to mount it, and a TO-3 style transistor is attached to the left side of the pistol grip. The rest of the gun looks to be custom sculpted.

The generic measurement of the scout blaster is 21cm long (from tip of the barrel to end of the gun) and an 4cm inches maximum width for the main body. The barrel is 1cm in diameter. The Single Point Scope is 18.5cm long and 3.2cm in diameter at the back of the scope. The general diameter of the scope tube is 2.5cm.

SE-14R

The SE-14r is from publicity photos for A New Hope and not actually seen in any of the films. The SE-14r, sometimes referred to as the Imperial repeating pistol, was an upgrade of the standard BlasTech Industries SE-14 blaster pistol. The kit can be sourced from makers in the USA but in recent time it is now offered by a fellow Redbacks member Oevil1.
