Date: Sunday 7th December 2014

Venue: Sunshine Coast Stadium, Kawana, Sunshine Coast

Time: 10am-1.30pm

Mission: The Treehouse Initiative is a not for profit organisation on the Sunshine Coast that supports children with special needs and their families. We were invited to bring some Star Wars flavour to their Christmas Carnival and bring some joy to little fans.

Trooper Attendance:
RBG: -
Solo – TK
Scoot040 – TI
Rebelrach – TS

RL: –
Tobalation - Jedi

Support Crew / Guest Trooper Attendance:
Stormraven – Santa (last minute fill in for a MIA Santa)

Details:
Two of the local troopers were joined by 3 Brisbane troopers at the Sunshine Coast Stadium (never wondered what those change rooms were like). Troopers kitted up, already feeling the heat and headed out to join the party. Stormraven gave up trooping in his kit to be Santa, patiently handing out dozens of presents to excited kids (great work there!). The kids and crowds grew during the morning and troopers wandered around the oval between the rides, activities and food stands, meeting the kids and parents, posing for photos and doing what we do best! Not sure whose smart idea it was, but the kids loved seeing troopers on the Tea Cup ride with their 'hands in the air like they just don't care' (still feeling queasy after that). While we were competing with Santa Stormraven and Frozen Princess Elsa and pony rides and petting zoo, we held our own! While it was very hot, the sea breeze really helped, and the predicted storms/rain didn’t eventuate. We had a short break for lunch, then headed back for a little longer and met yet more kids and had more pics, before de-Christmas-ing our costumes and heading home, a few with some yummy cupcakes (pays to stay til the end sometimes!)

Charity Funds Raised: Nil

Injuries / Malfunctions: A glue gun will come in handy on a few things but nothing serious

Public Incidents: Nil, thought the upset child count was 3....(we reckon 'Santa' scared one of the little kids not the troopers though!)

Mission Status: SUCCESS! Lots of smiles, big hugs, thanks, photos and hi five’s. The organisers were delighted and parents were really happy to have us there and we added to a very positive event. A great little troop and we had a lot of fun. But no more tea cup rides! Channel 7 got some footage of us, for the news during the week.
