Date: Sat 17th October 2015
Venue: Private residence Moorooka
Time: 5pm
Mission: To attend a girl’s 11yo birthday party.
Trooper Attendance:
Phantom BH
Daitium TK
Teiwaz TB
Stormraven ID
Dark Dora DZ
Support Crew:
MyKill
Details:
The troops started to arrive around 4pm with Diatium leading the way. We quickly start unloading our imperial shuttles and proceeded to set up the Wanted Poster. By this time the the rest of our troopers had arrived and we began to start kitting up. The host set up a special gazebo change room with benches and tables for our gear.
We made our way to the backyard where there was a herd of very excited kids awaited us, all dressed in Star Wars costumes. Many photos, smiles and fun were had, with the help of our trusting wrangler MyKill. Phantom also provided tattoos, a patch and a trinket to one very happy birthday girl.
The birthday girl Hannah has a beautiful heart and once they knew we were coming to her party she asked her friends not to buy her gifts but instead put money into a tin for the Cancer Council. One of Hannah’s friends is currently battling Leukaemeia so this was her way of helping a wonderful cause. I received a text message from her dad the next day:
Hi Stacey – thank you, Dave & the 501st so much for coming. Everyone loved it especially the kids. A grand total of $475 was raised for Cancer Council on behalf of the Redback Garrision. Thank you again and I hope you guys had fun as well.
Kindest regards Leon.
Charity Funds Raised: $475
Injuries / Malfunctions: Nil
Public Incidents: Nil
