Details:
Troopers gathered at the school’s impressive Performing Arts Complex nice and early.  A quick run through of the proceedings with the conductor doing the Star Wars piece and we were ready to get dressed. Despite us being early the concert ran very early, 30 mins, which had us scrambling to get outside for our cue. Being Raptor’s ROTJ Boba Fett debut getting him ready took some time and he wasn’t going to make the concert appearance in time. Kylo stormed off (in character of course) for his on stage appearance and the rest of us others prepared to enter the auditorium on cue, which they did, to a smattering of applause and surprised faces.  Troopers stood on guard at the base of the stage, and at the ‘Imperial March’ part of the medley on stormed Kylo Ren with blazing light saber, much to the crowds delight. The piece finished, Kylo made some threatening advances towards the conductor (dressed as Maverick from Top Gun). The conductor produced his own light saber and the pair faced off for a few seconds before Kylo thought the better of it and retreated. Much cheering and clapping for the troopers, orchestra and conductor.

After we had Boba Fett ready we headed out to mingle with the crowd, finding a great spot for photos outside with stone walls and up-lighting. The crowd lined up for photos and to stare down Kylo Ren, some great costumes by the students including Jedi, a full make up Darth Maul and a fantastic young Rey, they all came away with great photos. An excellent start back into trooping, well done to all that attended and a big shout out to Raptor for his amazing BH debut, and of course Luke with his irrepressible Kylo character, a big hit with the audience. .

Charity Funds Raised: $250 – the school is confirming where they are donating this to

Injuries / Malfunctions: Nil

Public Incidents: NIL.

Mission Status: Success. Worthwhile and good fun, great to be trooping again. The crowds genuinely loved having us by the applause and line up for photos after the concert. Thank you to those that came along and made a difference to the event.

Thanks for being the POC on this one Rach. It was definitely worthwhile even with the super rushed timing they threw at us but it was all for the kids in the end and they seems to really enjoy us being there.
