Troop Report
Date:
Saturday 5th July 2014

Venue:
The Courier-Mail Piazza, South Bank Parklands, Stanley Street, Southbank 4101

Time:
10am - 1pm

Mission:
To bring happy faces to the kids of the Wonder Factory and promote the Childrens Hospital Foundation.

Trooper Attendance:
TB 3326 Doc
CC 69696 Benji
DZ 8547 Bullant
SL 8995 Muppet
BH 8996 Cougar
TD 19866 Blueski

Support Crew / Guest Trooper Attendance:
Nil

Details:
Troopers assembled at Southbank and found that we had our own designated change room complete with showers!!! All kitted up and were soon mobbed within the Piazza by curious kids wanting photos. 1 particular toddler (although apprehensive at first) wouldn't leave our side no matter who else wanted a photo Lol Cute kid!

Plenty of time was spent patrolling the area of the parklands dedicated to all manner of things fun to kids, petting zoo, computer games (sorry we didn't get there Benji lol), plenty of face painting and different music/acts provided in the Piazza. We gave SpongeBob a run for his money!!!

After enough walking - well if you can call 5 steps a walk Hehehe we eventually set up in front of the hospital foundations booth where 100's of photos were taken.

After a quick break, Muppet, Cougar, Blueski and Benji then kept going with more opportunities for photos. After 3hrs, a day was called after another very satisfying troop!!!

Charity Funds Raised:
CHF were fundraising but raised awareness of the Foundation and WF to general public.

Injuries / Malfunctions:
Doc forgot his balaclava Banghead and plenty of parts were slipping on most troopers. Time to go down to Maintenance!!!

Public Incidents:
Vader and Boussh were handed plenty of babies for some reason ... Cheeky

Mission Status:
Typical RBG event - MASSIVE SUCCESS!!!

Photos:
Some from my phone.
Muppet has plenty on his camera, upload when you get the chance.

Gang,

Received this email from Kelli the WF Events Manager:

Hi Everyone

On behalf of the Children’s Hospital Foundation I wanted to say a very big thank you for your involvement in the first Wonder Day event. It was an awesome day with so much happening throughout South Bank. The day allowed us to raise awareness and funds for the Foundation and it was fantastic to be able to showcase a lot of the entertainment we have at the hospital.

We really appreciate your support not only on the weekend, but your ongoing involvement with the Foundation. You truly make a huge difference to the lives of sick kids and we are extremely grateful for all that you do. We’re very excited about moving to the new Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital at the end of this year and hope that you’ll continue to entertain kids with us there.
