Din Djarin TBOBF WIP

Hi all!  
Introduced myself on the forums and Bolt suggested I post in here to get things started. I'm currently deep diving into the BHG forums also! 

I've attached my current suit I was putting together completely unaware of 501st or its requirements. (I'm aware that basically all of it will need to be replaced at this point) 
 
Currently my suit is - 
Helmet - Black Series 
Shoulders, Chest, Gauntlets, Hand plates, Thighs, left Knee - 3d printed, painted myself w/ Rustoleum/Graphite Powder and Citadel Paints.
Flight suit/cape - random cheap number from ebay
Tasset Armour - Wife stitched some material together in a rough shape 
Belt/Bandoleer/Grav charges/Cummerbund/Abdominal Tasset and greaves - 3dPlanetProps
Gloves - cheap amazon gloves with fingers cut off and home made yellow/orange underglove
Boots -  My around the house work boots (haha)
Blaster - Rubies Star Wars The Mandalorian Blaster - Repainted myself with citadel paints.

Notes from BHG on S2/TBOBF CRL - 

Rebel Legion have the S2 version of Din Djarin CRL, BHG explained that Din was a "bad guy" as a bounty hunter in S1, until he accepts the mudhorn and to help Grogu, so S2 he's "good". Then in TBOBF working for as an enforcer for a crime boss he was "bad" again.

Semantics? haha

TBOBF CRL has been very recently updated and the colours of the flight suits are accurate but will look different under different lighting. Even though the respective images look different. 

Please any tips, thoughts, ideas, criticisms I want to hear it! I'm very aware this is a huge undertaking and won't take it lightly!

Quick update on my last few days. Thrown myself in the deep end.

BH-24814 (Lawrence) reached out to me, He's a member of 501stKnightFall and one of the first approved TBOBF in Australia, Needless to say we have been talking plenty, helping me research and prep what ill need.. He believes some of my kit would already pass approval (Apron, Shins and belt) and that I just need to swap "some" parts out. haha

Hard parts/Armour - Alumaluster is disgustingly expensive and it is not fiscally reasonable to buy enough to paint one set of armour. Searching more I was pointed towards *the armor foundry* as the most "Affordable" option. I've spoken with the owner (501st Approved Din himself) he's completed several full Alumaluster CRL kits approved through BHG and local Garrisons.

Soft parts - Literally everyone I've spoke to has immediately directed me to thedarksidecloset. From what i've seen the quality of work is unreal. although they have an insane wait time.
Boots/gloves - Similarly CrowProps seems to be the go to for BHG Din members.

Absolutely awesome research mate, sounds like you are on the right track!
Certainly not the easiest costume to put together... but a completed, fully accurate TBOBF Din is truly something to behold!

I've definitely learned something, was not aware of the "good guy" "bad guy" rules for Mando haha

Hey all, happy new year!

Quick update, my hard parts are sadly delayed due to the severe snow storms in the USA. My flight suit is still on track and I've just received my boots and gloves from CrowProps! 

The quality of these pieces are amazing (and who doesnt love the smell of fresh leather), would highly reccomend to anyone. + the support and owner is brilliant!

Slowly slowly coming along, Getting excited!

In the meantime I was wondering if there's other opportunities to get involved while I put the suit together? Would love to get to know some locals.

First impressions - WOW. Alumaluster. is. stunning. 

Its amazing just how drastically the finish looks under different lighting. Cant wait to get it all on and out in the sun. 

Attached a couple pics of different parts from the kit. I'll probably spam more later.

Only thing that springs to mind now is needing a leather strap for the knee piece (Which is rubber.. how cool) Any chance someone in the garrison could help/teach me how to make that?

Hey all!

Attended my first troop officially at the Brisbane Toy and Hobby Fair (wrangling) since last post! Everyone was so lovely and accommodating and am incredibly appreciative of Oevil1 for letting me borrow his Redback shirt so I fit in a bit better.

Small update on the suit for now, slowly plugging away while I wait for my flight suit.

Found a bit of excess leather from the bandoleer I've fashioned into a strap for the left knee. -
   

Had an old motorcycle helmet lying around, so I stripped the interior lining and fit it into the Mando bucket. Still trying to figure out fan placement and what/how to fit a solid power source inside the helmet, there's not a huge amount of room in there. Tips appreciated. -
   

Slowly working my way through adding in weathering on all the hard pieces.. Before I get on the leather - I'm a bit nervous about messing with the soft parts, but I'm thinking a blackwash and the some gentle dry brushing to bring some highlights back? -
