Construction update #3!
(Due credit to my Grandad's woodworking skills but by the way i designed all the parts for the Z-6 myself, and constructed half of it whether you choose to believe so or not)

So to answer bullant, yes, yes a drill motor is going into this thing
picked this up from masters for 40 bucks, but with 2 12volt rechargeable lithium ion batteries i'm ok with the price!

And i've had Azrael around to work on the electronics for the last 2 days and it's going quite well
Here he is pulling apart the drill

Here's the magazine primed, i've fillered in those cracks in the wood aswell

Here's Azrael again drilling holes into my beautiful box so the drill motor will fit in (we'll be putting in a false back to cover it)

and this is what happened to my drill because of the rebels. luckily it'll now fit into the box and everything is ready to be wired up tomorrow! more progress to come

Wow! That is one power-full blaster cannon you've got there. I'll bet you'll be drilling the Seperatists full of holes in no time. Wink Its also obvious that you haven't been board this whole time Cheeky You definately won't be putting on a wooden performance at future troops. Oh my puns are so electrical tonight Cheeky

Septone spray putty from Supercheap. Fills in all the woodgrain. sand it smooth with a 600 or 800 grit sandpaper.

I used something like Septone on my guard helmet and it works wonders at filling in all those little imperfections like wood grain marks and little ding marks.

So since everyone loves pictures, here's some reference shots from the 2D series

And something i found interesting, there's a few Ep3 troopers with them aswell later on

Here's some basic dimensions and if I get the time to make dimensions of every single part i'll put them up, but that might take a while...

Here's how I access my box's insides

You have to remove the ammo drum to take off the side panel, but it grants me access to pretty much everything inside

Here's most of the parts for the electronics so far, Azrael is putting this all together for me, it'll have sound effects and a bright blue light that shines down the barrel aswell!

Here's a close up of where the drill goes, and the inside of the box

still waiting on that frakkin helmet to show, it's getting to 5 weeks of waiting now, rather annoying stuff.
and i haven't heard back about approval yet (probably because of the elections) so i'll still be waiting for that.
more updates soon i hope
