CLone Blaster Weathering

looking at all the rex pics from the weekend and i noticed... my blasters are WAY TO CLEAN for a weathered armour

so i decided to weather the blasters up a bit, so i did a google pic search for clone blaster weahtering ideas and found to dip a cloth into some grey paint and then cover the blaster is the best effect.

so i found me some modelling Dark Grey Enamel paint, wet a cloth and dripped a few blobs onto it and rubbed it onto the blaster.

First attempt made it a bit to grey all over

second attempt on the second and then cleaned up the first.

its not tooo much is it? does it work?
