Detail: In a Galaxy far far away....
Phillip and Sara were married in what can only be described as a Big Fat Star Wars Persian wedding . There was a union of Persian bridal traditions with Epic Star Wars Troopers, a Belly dancer,Muppet and Monty Python theme Tunes. Much confusion ensued after the Bridal Planners briefing, as to what the Troopers were do throughout the ceremony. The Redback consensus was just to roll with the flow and choreograph ourselves what we would do throughout the wedding within the confines of the Grooms basic script. Stormtroopers ....and one Sandy ( Geez you would think he would scrub up abit) walked the Grooms men down the aisle. Darth Vader arrived with a late but very stunning Bride.
After a moving Persian ceremony the Troopers were fed Curry and Rice. Followed by a trip over the road for McDonalds Ice-cream and Ducks cakes and Brownies.
Rubber forgot he was one of the wedding guests and was found eating curry rather than attending the wedding.
With a few hours to kill, Duck learned very quickly not to leave her Belly dance costume in a room of bored Redbacks. They became confused between their own costumes and the Belly dance costume. Photographic evidence has been secured of their ...shenanigans.
Throughout the day, chaos ensured with the wedding and reception running late as the staff were slow at setting up the area. The wedding planners Ipad got lost then was found ..flat.
The Redbacks had to be very flexible and found ways to entertain themselves. With all the last minute changes they maintained a positive attitude and were ready when required.
Ducks Belly dance performance was put back, then bought forward. The traditional Persian knife Dance was a fail when the music was lost somewhere on the planners Ipad ...we think.
Oigen tried some Belly dance moves that rivals Ducks dancing....there is a video ....chuckles.
We had to bring forward the final appearance of the Redbacks and change what was originally planned due to the weather and safety issues. So Vader and the Troopers marched in on the reception for final photos. They did look impressive and the guests where appreciative of the opportunity to get up close and have photos. I think we have gained a couple of new recruits who were inspired by our costuming, presence and happy, friendly, easy going troopers. And later in the evening the fireworks went ahead after all.

The fireworks were impressive. We stayed for a little while at the after party. They were still talking about us and very impressed everyone stayed back for the guest photos.
Thanks Duck, Kitiara and Elektra for looking after us.
Shame I missed the dressing room entertainment, hey Bullant.

Awesome work guys.
We had Star Wars playing as we walked out of the church, but no Stormtroopers.

I wanted to wait a day before posting. This is one of those troops that could have been awesome or terrible. It ended up being an 11 hour day for me, with at most 1 hour of actual trooping, not to mention a 170 Km round trip! If it wasn't for the camaraderie, good will, great discussion, various shenanigans (and the one hour power nap on the floor of the board room) then I highly doubt that anyone would have stayed for the 4 hour break between the wedding ceremony and when we were called on for the reception. It's events like this that make me proud to be a Redback.

And it's not every day you get to see both a TK and Vader in a belly dancers outfit Wink
