Up the top right of the page is a "members list", click on that, and find Muppet. Then click on the PM button under his name/pic.

Ok well I took a selfie so you can see the fit. I would like to have the costume completed and approved before Supanova in Brisbane if possible.

You've got the ID Grumpy stare down-pat Smile

That actually looks pretty good to my eyes, apart from the belt buckle which will almost certainly need to be swapped.

Actually looking at the second photo the entire belt may need replacing, can you give us a better picture of how the belt closes?

The "spare" bit of belt should go through the buckle and behind the belt so it isn't visible. And there should be a snap or rivet to the left of the buckle.

I'm assuming you are aware of the CRL here?

Yep the bones seem to be there its just tweaking a bit

Muppet does whole belts so he should be able to help you out with both the buckle and the belt as well and it will be accurate and prob not much more then just replacing the buckle you have, putting the slack behind the belt out of site and adding the missing rivet

Ok thanks heaps guys. I have messaged Muppet so hopefully I can get a complete belt from him and Im off to get my boots now. The ones in the photo had a zip on one side so they have to be replaced. I will get some brass coloured warhammer paint too and fix the code cylinder clips. The blue part is movable and I did push it all the down in the photo so I just need to fix it in that position now i think. I will add stirrups to the bottom of the pants...good idea. I have looked closely at the CRL so hoepfully Im on track. the collar of my uniform may need some adjustment but i will leave that till I get close to getting this uniform approved.

Grumpy stare...i always look that way Smile

Pm replied to.
Also sewing in some stirrups at the end of the trousers, eliminate a lot of the bunching up of the pants when putting boots on.

I got my new belt from Muppet today..thanks heaps.
I also got the belt boxes from Jaycar and ordered the clips from the place I saw in the threads.
I bought the boots from horseland but even size 12 dont fit my calves. Has anyone else had this problem. Im looking at going to bootmaker to see what he can do so i can get into them.
I would really like a pair of gauntlets that are slightly flared. Any ideas where I can get them?
thanks

Yeah mate I had exactly the same problem. I Duras also had issues, and I recall a picture of some of the worst family of Blisters on a calf I've ever seen after a big day trooping.
I would really like a pair of gauntlets that are slightly flared. Any ideas where I can get them? I think Beanie has a source for these as he's done several bulk runs for TR's ect., might pay to pm him as I think the supplier was running low on certain sizes.
thanks

Hi Welcome Kaladan
I'm another officer and believe me we've had endless discussions about how we ALL seem to have FAT calves for those Horseland boots....many a blister and injury from them...not to mention damaged egos. So you're not alone.

If you have your new belt and the blue tops of your code cylinders can be pushed down you are well on your way. Remember when you submit your approval photos, if you get sent back to fix things up, its just constructive feedback, The Redbacks is known for having very high standards amongst Garrisons worldwide, and our Costume approval guys want to keep the standards high!

Good luck and see you in the Officers mess hall on the Death Star soon!

I had a look though your & it's coming along pretty well mate, couple of things I'd look at :-

* Brass Clips for Converted Chalk Holders available here :- http://smugglersrun.net/costumes/imperia...r-clip/110

* The Collar closure looks a little off, here is the reference from the CRL :- The standing collar has square corners and is about 1.25" (31.8 mm) tall and closes snugly and includes a modesty panel behind closure. Collar edges are closed with two eye hooks.

Hey Bids thanks for the headsup on the brass clip. I have ordered them today Smile
I have attached some pics below of my collar and other seams on my uniform for more clarification and I will PM this to phantom so I know what to fix.
The collar is square and about 32mm tall as per the CRL and it does have a triangle at the back (is this the modesty panel?) The collar has no eye hooks so i will have to see how they go on the collar so perhaps someone can send me a pic and I will head off to the alteration shop in North Lakes to get it fixed.
I have pics of the front seam below yoke.I forgot to take a pic of the front seam near where the belt goes but you can see it at the back with the princess seams. The uniform is zipped up in the middle but you cant see that when on and then the uniform clips together on my right side ( im not a seamstress so dont know the correct terms)
I hope these are correct.

No worries mate happy to help.

Yeah those clips are nice, we had a group buy on these not so long ago as it's a great upgrade for those of us without original dosimeters. If you scroll about 1/2 way down this page you'll see a fairly simply mod you can make to the chalk holders to improve their look :- http://www.501st.com.au/forum/thread-3988-page-15.html . This along with the clips makes them as good as it get's without spending up on Dosimeters.

That first picture is good as it shows the collar much better. Yep that triangle you mention is the modesty panel. This is simply to fill in behind the collar where each side butts together. It stops any skin on the neck being seen between each side. The idea of the eye/hook (like the hooks on a bra strap) is to hold each side of the collar together and stop in separating when you move. Once you've got these done you can either starch the collar to keep it nice and stiff, or even better have a reinforcement sewn into the collar.

All in all looking pretty good mate.

Boots with zippers are approvable. Obviously calves are a big problem. My wife is having the same problem with her officer uniform.

Dropped my Imperial uniform in to get the collar eye/hook fixed. Will be back in a week so hopefully all the other little bits will be here soon too, The lady at the alteration shop thought I must have been a chef.
While im waiting I found my old Altmans Death Star Gunner Helmet. This may be another costume I can do quickly before i get into something more difficult.
