Display stand for my E11 Blaster

Thought I would Start a new thread for this, so this image is also posted on my Blaster build.
The options were, buy a Doopy stand, approximate cost shipped = to expensive, or build it myself option.
Cost $3.80 for a piece of Pine from Bunnings.
So I drew up some plans, looks similar to the Doopy stand so a good place to start from.
I made some cardboard templates first in order to make sure the dimensions would work.


Timber cut to size

Parts taped together for a test fit, these will be sanded and shaped prior to painting.



Started glueing and pinning the parts together.
The base will be screwed and glued, the supports were glued and tacked together with small nails, then I used a nail punch and filled the holes with putty.

Sanded and assembled for final test fit, before painting.



First coat, using Gloss black Rustoleum left over from painting the Blaster pistol grip.
Once it has dried for 24 hrs, I will give it a sand with some 1200 grit wet n dry, clean it and give it another 2 coats.

So I went looking in our crafting boxes for some adhesive backed felt, and low and behold we actually had some. It's good to have an 8 year old at school that needs this type of stuff for projects.



Cut out the felt and tested for fit and re-trim, for front and rear of stand, I'm using this to protect the paint work on my new Blaster of course.

Assembled, and a perfect fit.
Still working on some finishing details for the stand, so hopefully they come through in the next week or so.

Another option for the decals is eBay. There are heaps available and they are dirt cheap. I have these stuck on all sorts of things including my car, inside my TB helmet and various places. I have bought different sizes from different places and always good quality. Here is an example link that will get you 4 decals for about $5:

Bugger, didn't think to check evilbay for stickers before i had these made. Could have saved myself a few bucks, but I did need a specific size for my stand.
