Hi Everyone!
I finally got around to joining now that I have some spare time.

For those of you who don't know me, I regularly cosplay as Poison Ivy and am part of Gotham Fatale with Harley Quinn, and we put on geek burlesque shows.

I'm hoping to join the 501st next year but am having trouble deciding on a character as I don't have too much money to spend, as I have to make my funds go to many hobbies.

What kind of costume are you interested in?

I'm still trying to figure out which section to post a "help me pick a costume" thread.

I was going to do Admiral Daala, but have noticed that someone else will be doing that one, and I'd rather pick something that you don't have.
I'm looking into the Nightsisters ATM, I really like the one with the hood, red bandaged costume and Energy bow, I THINK her name is Naa'leth.
I'm just not sure if she's acceptable >.<

With your hair an option would be Mara Jade who was one of the Emperor's assasins ( you get to wear a bodysuit and weild a lightsabre ). But if you like the Nightsisters have a talk to Trillia as she has done some reseach into them already.

Main rule is do something that you like but it is easier to do something that is already approved.

Maybe we can call you E-velle.

Yeah, I just noticed when I did a search on the forums. I have no idea what to do!
I'd just rather not do Armour. I'd really like to join before May 4th next year!

LOL And yes well, Geek Burlesque is a new niche market, and where better the find my market then conventions?
We're putting them at the same time as the cons. This year we did them at Sydnova, Brisbane Auscon (new convention) and Melbourne Armageddon. The people who came along absolutely loved it.
We haven't decided on our shows for next year yet, but we'll keep everyone posted.

Yeah, I've considered Mara Jade (plus the Rebel Legion said if I do her, I can technically join both sides) but I really like doing characters that haven't been done as much.

PS My name DID start it's life as Eve Elle, some years ago. (But then a porn star stole it and I didn't want to be confused with her )

My lovely partner LadyTarkin aka Lisa is 'concidering' doing Admiral Daala (haven't started yet but it's a long term project). Doing an Imperial Staff Officer ID first to get her approved.
Also us being here in Central Queensland, we'll only get to a select few troops a year in the South East corner.
Search the forums and have a chat to Muppet before you decide on her as there may be approval issues.
It's great to see the numbers of Redbacks on the increase, and you already know what a wonderful bunch of people they are.

Hmm I might attempt Admiral Daala then, I know exactly how to make her, as my lil brother has the same costume, that's 95% ready to be approved.
I had a look in the Costume Reference Library thread and she appears on that, so that's a good sign.

Yes Dale's costume would be a good template to use for Daala. If you are free on the 27th of Dec Wolf is having an Armor Party come along and have a look at some other costume and I can bring my Officer costume along for you to compare.

Also I was at the Auscon Burlequese show and I liked your act I would be more than happy to come along to any show you, Harley and friends put on.
