Howdy!

Hello all! So I stumbled onto this from my American friends who are working on there costumes for the American 501st. I decided to google for an Australian one and bamn! Here we are!!

I saw your booth at Supernova and I had to say it was Impressive!! Of course I had to go and get photos with Darth Revan and Darth Nihilus! XD

About me! Well I've always been into Star Wars from an early age, and also roleplay on a star wars website. Dressing up and acting like characters is just supreme fun! If anyone saw the Gold Coast Bulletin or Courier mail for Supernova, I was the crazy Joker there! (Yes I was in character for most of Nova..my Throat is still recovering from all the laughing.. shhessh XD)

So I'm thinking cause of my height being 6'5 I'd be a good fit for Chewie! (Even though I'd still need to amp my height up to be more realistic to his height! Damn you Wookies!)

Sadly when it comes to creating stuff I'm mediocre.. Though I have seen some amazing movie quality costumes to purchase! (I dont know if that's frowned upon or what not - Id be happy to try and create but just yeh, being honest Im new to the creating world) If someone could steer me in the right direction that would be amazing!

Looking forward to meeting some of you peeps in the future! XD

Greetings V3nom not sure which crazy joker you were at SupaNova but you will be more than welcome around here.

If you are still unsure of what costume you want to there will over 100 of us (Imperial and Rebel) at DreamWorld on the 4-5th of May. So if you are free that weekend come along and see if anything appeals to you.

Dont worry too much about your creating ability as there are many people in the garrison who can help mentor and develop those skills.

So welcome and we hope you enjoy your time with us, and if you think dressing up as the Joker was crazy, well you ain't seen nothing yet. Cheeky

Welcome mate. Chewies are an awesome costume, but are one of the most difficult to do. My Chewie was made by a SFX guy in England who specialises in Wookies. Lots of guys do make it themselves, but it is a lengthy job.

Being so tall, don't rule out starting out as an expendable Stormtrooper either.

Welcome to the forum, nice Joker.

Very Jealous of your height as it opens up a lot of costume options for you, including Vader as Benji mentioned. In saying that as MP mentioned you still don't disqualify yourself from the likes of a Storm Trooper ect. The Detachment Leader of the Storm Trooper Detachment is 6'5" as well and he has an awesome TK.

Good luck with your costume decision, hope to see you at Dreamworld.

Cheers

Welcome!
Many of heading down the brand new world of costuming are discovering skills we never knew we had and this is a great garrison with skilled folk willing to help.

You can always source a 2nd hand costume or buy a new one! Nothing wrong with that ! You've mentioned a Chewie, he is Rebel Legion and our base here is Tatooine Base, most of us are in that club too!

But ask lots of questions and you'll get lots if support! Good luck!

G'days and welcome. A Chewie would be awesome, however that's a Rebel Legion Costume. What you want is an Imperial (bad guy) costume here. But we are all here to help either way. And as mentioned your height opens you up to a wide range of awesome costumes. So go nuts, just pick 1 to start with and go from there. Wink
