Can you give us a clue? Is your not inconsiderable height a major factor in this costume? Was your use of the word 'howlingly' a sneaky hint? Throw us a bone here.

Geez, you try to create an air of mystery/misery!
Okay, my height does make the costume absurd, and he does understand howling from the other side.
There's a STAR WARS trivia night I'm going to that has a costume contest. And I dont have a thing to wear!
Here's a very obvious/pedantic hint
I'm currently looking for yellow high viz iron on transfer that I'll be cutting into ¼" by 1" rectangles and spacing them no more than ⅛" apart. With which to permanently ruin an item of clothing, but they're no good to me, anyway. That clue is staring you, dead, in the face.

Okay, I give.
I'm making the worst yet still accurate(ish) Han Solo costume I can for under $50.
I've acquired all the necessary parts and plan to spend most of Tomorrow ironing ribbon onto a pants leg with hemming tape.
I'm going for that 'just about to go into the freezing chamber' look.
I'll post my "build" progress tomorrow as I do it.

In all seriousness, this is the first costume that I have "crafted" myself. I'm going to treat building it as if I were making a first in the legion project. Plus its practice!
So I decided to make the pants first, I got my supplies together:
I'd made the stripes already by measuring out 30cm lengths of ribbon, 30cm lengths of tape and ironing them together - 11 times, and then cut them into 3cm pieces - 99 times!
Let the ironing begin!:
Oh yes, crookedness, random spacing and loose threads me damned, I'm enjoying myself:
One down, flip and repeat, and the finished product?
You know I'm actually quite proud of the result. It started out as a bit of joke because I knew I had a pair of tan chino's I bought in fatter days and never wore (it still had tags) that could be bodged into Han Solo pants.
Considering I never measured the spacing they're almost the same length! 52 stripes to a leg.
Boots are sorted (funtasmas) now I need to dig through my wardrobe for an old white business shirt.
This making stuff is fun, so much more rewarding than buying stuff online
Better get some sleep, wrangling tomorrow... Today, whatever.

I've made progress, it took me ages to find a gray collared shirt I was given years ago that I've never worn!
No Custer fronts but this pocket has to go:
Like it never existed!
Now let's mandarin that collar!:
Result!:
And now armed with some reference pics I use these mighty tools to craft upper arm binders!!!
The cardboard base
That seems right
So that's both wrapped in the silver,
And now for the details in the 100mph tape!
TAH DAH!!!
Duct tape is the best thing ever!!!
At first I was just going to do the surface details, but then I decided to make some chain. Though wont be joining them together - that seems awkward and unsafe!
Thats all for tonight's labours, I've got one more thing to make, and my "costume" is complete (emporers voice)
And now for the 4 hours sleep before I get up for work!

And now the final piece of the puzzle.
With this mighty $2.50 pitchfork I craft a kithaba vibro-axe for that "BOBA FETT?" moment!
This has to go, but it may have its uses
Oooooh, that looks good, and I only almost glued my finger to my thumb!
This is coming together nicely!
Add a nice foundation layer to hold everything together
Time to fill that gap up and add the surface detail
Now to add some black tape for the detail work
Wrapped the handle in continuous go (my fingers cramped from turning it so much), and built up a couple of 'rings' with some more more black tape to give some detail, I left the end red, because 1 it looks okay, and 2 how do you wrap an arrowhead in duct tape?
And the results are glorious!!!
I'll post photos of me wearing this train wreck after tomorrow night's festivities
Even better, I'm catching the bus into the city WEARING IT!
Ain't no change rooms at a pub!

And the results of all that effort:
ESB carbon freeze version:
If you're thinking that that is the worst Joe dirt mullet wig that $6.99 can buy...
...I know!
And the ROTJ "BOBA FETT? Where?" Version:
There's an easter egg somewhere in the last photo!

A fun night, unfortunate 3/4 of your trivia team was baggage. We soon realised it was a waste of time having a scribe. Give MyKill the pen and go get a drink!
