I'm going to be making three different style of grips that people can choose from. The first being the standard crosshatched grip. The second will have the Imperial Cog in the middle and the third...an exclusive to Redback members only...the Redback logo on the grip.

Does this third option propose any conflicts to the merchandising guidelines? It will not be offered outside the garrison at all.

If you refer to the picture below, you'll see what I have in mind. Excuse the look of the hatching as the conversion from Illustrator to jpeg has not worked that well. But hopefully the laser etching will work out better.

I also got all the pieces I needed for my rotocastor...so more to be built and not enough time.Banghead
Would/ could the grips be interchangable?

Absolutely mate. Standard or Imperial cog...depending upon how popular it may be, I was thinking of doing up some special Redback Garrison grips. Not sure if it infringes on any merchandising rules though...???

Finally started casting the smaller components of my custom SE-14r PVC pipe kit...

I found that lining the blocks with cheap packing tape helps to cut out any leakage, makes for a tidy mould and the silicon comes away easily.

I have to say I'm pretty stoked so far. It's my first time dealing with two piece silicon moulds. Next will be the interchangeable pistol grips and the main body of the blaster. The pistol grips will also be done as a two part mould to reduce the amount of finishing and to ensure they sit firm against the handle of the main body.

Looks awesome Tim, but we didn't expect any less of you. Were the blocks really the best option for holding your mold, or were they just the most fun?Eyebrows

I'm fairly sure Tim didn't need the blocks to make the pieces they are his "stress relief toys" Hehehe

Still I'm keen to see this completed so I can give you some of my money. Aaaah

I use the blocks for two very important reasons...

1. Best option to use when the rest of family is in bed and I can't use my table saw to cut timber... Banghead

2. THEY'RE BUILDING BLOCKS BIDS Jig...BUILDING BLOCKS! JigHurrah

The last and the biggest mould has been completed and tested!

I did encounter the usual air pocket problems, but with some quick rocking of the mould next time should get rid of all that Smile I did use Barnes' Easycast which sets just a little too quick for my liking. May try 4PU again on the next one.

I'll trial a couple more runs...after that I'll be working out a final price, write up the assembly instructions and draw up the templates for the PVC pipes needed.

Almost there...assembling the first complete set and working out the template for the shroud as well as the assembly instructions. Decided I will cast all sets in black resin from here on...it just looks cooler Oh...and the rubber bands will cost extra if you want them Lol
