Terror's Verpine Shatter gun (Nerf Conversion)

So I am doing a few builds in parallel and this one is for my Mando Merc that I am doing.

So the base is a Nerf Longstrike which will need a bit of chopping



So I start with pulling the gun in half and remove all the firing mechanism components but leave the trigger working for future electronics.

Based on some research of pics of many Verpine guns then I have marked up the spots to be dremeled off.

New barrel is applied and some styrene sheets to start coving up the gaps.



Next will be for styrene sheet, no more gaps, mod the scope and sand off all the Nerf markings and then prime again.

Last item when its all assembled is to de-Nerf the gun and accessories

Spent some time on the Shatter Gun just getting the fit right on the barrel, adding some detail and styrene strip and doing a trial fit of the scope. Scope needs further work to add more greebs and take away the military look.

Still in the process of making the magazine for it and it will be the last item done. Here are some progress pics from the last 2 days. It has been de-nerfed, another coat of primers and now for the first 2 coast of matt black.

All main painting is now done apart from the clear coat. The matt black came out more on the upper end of satin to gloss for some reason?



A few more detail bits to be added like black screws in strategic locations and some weathering.



Also I have not bogged the screw holes as I still want to revisit with electronics at some stage.

Spent the morning doing the weathering and need to tidy up the front of the barrel more as not happy with the weathering effect.





When this done I will add the screws and clear coat.

Still farting around with the magazine and hopefully will have it done this weekend.
